Outcomes
By the end of the session you should:
- understand the term Multimedia
- understand how the ICT National Curriculum thread Exchanging and sharing information
leads up to producing multimedia presentations
- know some of the applications which can be used to produce multimedia
- have viewed some sites from which clip art, video and sound files can be downloaded
- (optional) have created a short video using PhotoStory

- Discuss meaning - then check using either the dictionary within Word or http://www.wikipedia.org/
- Brainstorm applications which can be classsed as "multimedia"

- your own still digital camera (for PhotoStory, using the full size files from the camera will give you more scope
to pan and zoom - but for inserting images into PowerPoint there is no point in them being larger than
1024 x 768 pixels - users of Windows XP can use Microsoft
Image Resizer to create smaller copies - users of
Windows Vista can use

or better still?
Creative Vado cameras in conjunction with Widows Movie Maker software (which comes with the operating system). Don't forget many still cameras
can shoot video.

- sound recorded on your own computer (in PowerPoint, Microsoft Sound Recorder or a host of other
applications - icluding Audacity), or digital voice recorders
- CD ROM collections (e.g. Sherston Primary Clipart Collection)
