Creating a web page

You can create a web page with any text editor - even Notepad. A reference document for HTLM commands. A free web creation package: Evrsoft First Page. If you pay for your internet access, then you probably have some free webspace provided by you ISP but there are also lots of free hosting services (Google them)- usually paid for by advertising. I used to use Lycos Tripod - this is my home page on Lycos.

Create a suitable file structure on your computer: Your fornt page should be called index.htm or index.html. This should sit outside any folders. Then there should be folders for pages and images. Images should be resized down from digital cameras using (this can be done using an application such as VSO image resizer.

A good way of learning HTML is to look at the source code of pages that you like - start with simple ones! Using Internet Explorer, go to the View menu and select "view source". This will display the source code in Notepad.
