FDG109 - Extending Subject Knowledge in ICT

I will be in college, available for tutorial from 1:30 pm on Wednesday, October 22 - somewhere on floor 7.

As promised - the notes on initiatives from the session are now on-line. I've added a couple of suggestions about how you can score more marks for analysis, rather than being purely descriptive.

A reminder - for the tutorials I would like you to bring at least a draft of what you are going to include in your portfolio on the subject of ICT initiatives and a list of ICT skills that you would like to gian during the course of the module.

Learning Outcomes

Successful completion of this module will enable students to demonstrate:

• Knowledge and understanding of:
  1. national initiatives to develop the use of ICT in schools, for example, the National Grid for Learning (NGFL);
  2. the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) curriculum;
  3. effective planning, teaching and assessment methods.
• An ability to:
  4. competently use ICT resources at the level of a general user;
  5. employ a range of common ICT tools for their own and pupils' benefit.
