By the end of the session you should:

have an overview of the module content and its assessment
be aware of the need for reading around the subject - and where to find sources of information
be aware of some national initiatives involving ICT and schools
be aware of some areas for development of personal skills to support teaching and learning

- ICT in Schools diagram - the importance of ICT in schools - and emphasizing that this module is about ICT the subject!

For next week - bring in (or email) two lists:

tasks which you do in school that involve the use of ICT - along with the ICT skills involved
tasks in school that it would be useful to be able to undertake - along with skills required - highlighting those skills which you don't have

These lists can be included in your portfolio as part of the evidence to show achievemnt of outcomes 4 and 5.
