The QCA scheme of work

This link takes you to the QCA scheme of work for ICT. From here you can chose to download all the units as either Word or .pdf documents or view them in Internet Explorer. However, the web page view has advantages over the printed version, allowing you to focus on the different elements of the scheme of work.

Structure of the units: an example of what the printed documents look like.

Units 1a and 6a

Refer to unit 1a and unit 6a

Where is Father Christmas - teachers' notes. New for 2007 Ou est pere Noel?
Could Year 6 pupils create a similar simulation as part of their work on 6a, with Y1 children being the audience?

Activity - complete one (or more) of these Word documents (save to your laptops - then open them). You may find it useful to work in groups of 2 or 3. It would be wonderful if you could email the sheet(s) you complete. We'll either have a brief discussion about them next week or I'll post the solutions to the website.
Two of the answers pages from session 4, when we looked at the QCA scheme of work are also available: Year 1 and Year 3 (the others came with no answers - or no attachment in the email)!

Your school should have customized the scheme of work - saying (at least) which software and other resources will be used to teach the unit. School schemes may also be based on LA schemes:

When completing the lesson observation task - reference should be made to the appropriate scheme of work, and the activity objectives, outcomes, resources, etc..

If there is time - relate the outcomes from units which you have looked at this evening to the National Curriculum requirements at Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.
