Making the Most of Kindles (and other EBooks) in Class

One of the beauties of "paid for" ebooks is that they can legally be used on more than one device (with Amazon Kindles a book can be used on 6 devices). Not only that - but there is free software that allows the books to be used on different devices ( download Kindle reader software for various different devices, tablets and PCs). It gets still better - there are lots and lots of free books out there: this page contains a list of free ebooks from Project Gutenberg along with links to sites which provide information on managing ebook readers in schools.

There is a shortage of e-reference books for primary pupils, so one of the tasks that I've set myself is to write a series - the first of these (on the subject of Bridges is available from Amazon, with a free taster on the web.

Free Books

I've started this list with the books that I used to use when working with Year 4 and 5 children. I will gradually extend it - and maybe even (at some time in the future) organise it in alphabetical order of authors!

Where there is a choice of versions with and without illustration, I have linked to the illustrated version.
